Influence of a Film on Campus Recruitment



What is the major criterion that makes parents and students look out for while choosing the right college?

We can say Infrastructure, Goodwill, etc. but above all the education and investment will incur loss if by the end of the course one does not have a job. Placements number and salary figures majorly decides upon the selection of the institutions, as facilities can not alone suffice to battle alone that one has to face  in the world. There are better facilities than the top most colleges with every businessman looking for stable white money from the institution business. Then why the top institutions are more attractive, all cause of the salary packages.

The major factor conquering the fact of better placements is all because of the process we all know as “Campus Recruitment”. The institutions heavily invest on the marketing and scores on the famous alumni students, whose testimonials works wonders to attract the Companies and previous record breaking packages published on the ads can trigger in bringing goodwill of the institutions.

How does this works?

Campus placements are held when the placement cell invites multiple companies to interview the final year students, who are young, energetic, ideate or innovate and work hard and compete in the battle of profit making, cutting-edge technologies and the industry's leading business and technology experts. The interview basically comprises of key skill questionnaires, interests, group discussions and a final interview that ultimate judge the individual. Once selected, offer is generated and on completion of the course, one can join the preferred company.

But how do we decide what to choose and whom to choose? Not all companies disclose the facts as it’s a brief or limited time framed during the interview process. Before the placements, one can thoroughly go through the respective website and if not much is provided through distributed pamphlets, goodwill. But does this suffice the technology savvy youth? The answer is No. Students are sure that all companies have a well air-conditioned facilities, cafeterias, good leaders; the question arises when the major holistic approach comes to picture the senses, the senses can only be driven by a single word to pursue anything is “Motivation.”

So how do we motivate? Motivate them through videos; videos will give a bright clear picture of the vision and mission of the companies. As the saying goes “Seeing is believing,” so the task can be done with highly motivating videos comprising of the facilities of course, the work-culture, probable explorations in terms of innovations, self development like trainings and seeking personal growth, people development, work life balance, ethics, on site opportunities, which is always scrumptious. Yes, we all know and watch these videos on every other corporate events, but the difference can a single good small documentary film can do for organizations to win the hearts of students is  quality video. When in today’s world students watch multiple genres of clips, music, movies, so are very much acquainted with the kind of direction and filming of the videos; so something different, empathic and off beat should be portrayed.

The good video will comprise of a script as unscripted videos will only land a client in corrections of edited video, which will be followed by multiple corrections in post production stage. The clients will also have multiple approvals and managers who will definitely give their own piece of mind, who in fact will try a cost cutting video without having to pay a script writer. Now coming to the visuals, low rise footage, bad or poor lighting can never appease anyone to work in a dimly lighted environment, which might not be the fact. Now the most important part is direction, the well merge off the pre-production, production and the director can work magic, the editing part can combine the entire bundle of shots to beautifully merge as per the vision and mission of the entire video. The students should be inspired and motivated not to work with the companies but to feel like a sole responsible owner. The companies offer salary packages to the students for the company’s growth and flourish, so to motivate these young talents to bring in new innovative ideas, so is the fees that requires to be paid for a great video too, without having to compromise on any shot of drawing and lagging behind to motivate and onboard the best student, who will definitely yield better results in a log run.
